Backline Studio is a trade name of Aeon Living LLC. Backline Studio ("Backline Studio," "we," "us," or "our") builds and operates AI phone-receptionist services for trades and home-services businesses. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using our website or services, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
We collect:
Business and contact information — your name, business name, phone number, email address, service address, trade, and information from your publicly available business listing.
Call information— when our receptionist answers a call, we process the audio, recordings, and transcripts of that call, and the lead details captured during it (such as the caller's name, number, the service they need, and address).
Messaging information — your mobile number and your consent when you opt in to receive text messages from us, and the content of those messages.
Website and usage data — basic technical information such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages viewed, collected through standard analytics.
How we use information
We use information to provide and operate the receptionist service, configure and personalize each business's agent, deliver captured leads to the business, send messages you have asked to receive, respond to inquiries and provide support, bill for the service, maintain security, and comply with our legal obligations.
SMS / text messaging
When you opt in to receive text messages from Backline Studio, we collect your mobile number and your consent and use them solely to send the messages you requested. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
We do not sell, rent, or share your SMS opt-in information or your mobile phone number with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. The information you provide as part of the SMS consent process — including your phone number and the fact that you opted in — is not shared with any third parties for marketing.
How we share information
We use trusted service providers to run the service, and they process information only on our behalf to provide it to us — including telephony and messaging (Twilio), voice AI (Retell), language processing (OpenAI), email delivery (Resend) and email hosting (Google Workspace), website hosting (Vercel), and our database (Supabase). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
We do not sell your personal information. As stated above, mobile opt-in data is never shared for third-party marketing.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business or legal purposes, then delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete information associated with your business at any time.
Your choices and rights
You can opt out of text messages by replying STOP, unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message, and contact us to access, correct, or delete your information. We will honor applicable privacy rights under the laws that apply to you.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
Children's privacy
Our services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
